What is the difference between men's hair and women's hair.

Aspic black or snow-white, lush or smooth, thick or liquid, mussed or smoothed, slicked or slicked back, brushed or loosened - it's all about them, about hair.

The people have always had a special attitude to the hair. It is no accident in the Russian language so many proverbs and sayings associated with him. "In a good life curls curl, and in a bad life split"; "Eat a soup - will be a white neck, a head kudrovata"; "The sky is decorated with stars, men - a beard, women - the hair." Already in proverbs indicated the difference between the hair of a man and a woman. And it is not only in the location or length, which, by the way, is no longer a sign of gender identity. Aida Hajigoroeva, candidate of medical sciences and leading trichologist of Russia, explains that the difference between the hair of a man and a woman is clearly visible in the type of shampoo. Now it is not only issued according to its purpose - for dry, oily, brittle, dull, but also necessarily by gender - for men and women, since the structure of their hair is very different. In his book "How men differ from women" Professor Lev Etingen explains this including the differences between hair. The acid-alkaline balance (pH) of the scalp of men is lower than that of women, 5.4 and 5.7, respectively. The skin itself of the stronger sex is more dense, their blood circulation is much more active, as well as the work of the sebaceous glands. This leads to the fact that the hair of the stronger sex becomes greasy and dirty much more often than women. Therefore, shampoo for men aims primarily at degreasing the scalp and includes substances that are much more active in cleansing grease and drying the scalp, says Aida Hajigoroeva. The level of the male sex hormone testosterone makes men more hairy everywhere, but less so on the head. In women, on the contrary, the female hormone oestrogen dramatically reduces the amount of hair on the entire body except the head. Women's head hair tends to be thicker, softer and less prone to hair loss. Ladies "saves" the fact that their hair follicles are deep in the skin, about 2 mm deeper than in men. However, it is worth bearing in mind that rarely any woman can keep a lush hairdo to a ripe old age. But many men by the age of forty have substantial bald patches on his head, and even bald. That's why men's shampoos include additives to prevent hair loss. Scientists have calculated that a man grows up to 725 kilometers (!) of hair over his lifetime. Female hair grows more slowly than male hair, but it lasts almost twice as long. Again, according to the averaged statistics, a man's hair lasts 2-3 years, and a woman's 4-5 years. The speed of hair growth is affected by age - the older you are, the slower your hair grows. At 50-60 years of age, growth slows down significantly. But this is about the hair on the head. For example, men's beards grow back in 92 days, while women are known to have either no hair at all or only slight hair on the chin. Russian trichologists established that hair is a very sensitive indicator of health. For example, in the moment of stress it tries to absorb all the negative things, thus protecting inner organs. This is confirmed by studies showing that cortisol (the stress hormone) actively accumulates in the hair. When under stress, hair actively begins to fall out, thus getting rid of cortisol and protecting the body from unnecessary stress. It is noticed that after getting a haircut, many people feel much better. Because women are more emotional and go through negative situations much stronger, their hair in times of strong emotional disturbances begins to fall out much more actively than men's hair.
